Gardening in Colorado has four seasons that require specific garden tasks.  In winter the garden is resting, but the gardener is planning the vegetable garden, perennial plant moves and setting up the seed starting apparatus. Pruning deciduous trees is best in the winter. Spring is when gardeners are the most excited with the anticipation of fresh vegetables and flowers. Summer is a time for weeding, mowing and watering. Fall is harvest time and then we start over.
